Basic Rescuer CPR Level C
4 Hours Recertification
8 Hours New Certification

Purpose:
To educate participants about adult, child and infant CPR and choking emergencies. In order to assist in emergency situations until EMS (Emergency Medical Services) arrive.

Objectives:
To have participants become knowledgeable in the 9-1-1 system, know how to recognize choking emergencies, heart attacks, strokes, angina and sudden cardiac arrests and how to manage the scene until EMS arrive.

Minimum Participants:
For on-site training, a minimum of 8 participants is required. We follow Health Canada and the applicable WSIB/SCB requirements for instructor per participant ratio.

Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites for this course.

  • Legalities
  • Disease Management/Biohazards
  • Scene Management
  • Adult, Child and Infant Conscious and Unconscious Choking Emergencies
  • Adult, Child and Infant Heart Attack, Stroke, Angina
  • Recognition and causes
  • Management – Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABCs)

Certifications:
This course follows the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s guidelines. Re-certification required annually.
